Skincare Diet & Health

Skincare Treatments Your diet and health are key components that you should see as the basis of your skincare plan. Treat skin care products as your top ups, rather than the other way around.

Diet Skincare Treatments

- Fruit and Veggies

Lots of fruit and vegetables, particularly vitamin rich ones including oranges, beetroot, broccoli and carrots. Models are always chomping on this stuff.

diet Skincare- Food nasties

Additives and to a degree sugar are your enemies, so you should avoid. Also, caffine doesn’t do you any favours - so cut back. Despite their reputation, most successful models are really health conscious and look after themselves. Exceptions like Kate Moss are rare and she also has a lot of ‘down time’ to keep herself in check. At lunch time at shoots models are more likely to eat a big salad or sandwich than a MacDonald’s, especially girls that specialize in beauty work

- Water and tea

Drink as much as possible to flush out the inevitable toxins that your body builds up. Green tea is excellent for relaxation and also as a skin care product for its cleansing ablilites.

Health Skincare Treatments

diet Skincare- Stress

Stress is the biggest enemy to your skincare other than the sun. We have all been there, and almost no amount of skin care products can be the solution. Yoga can help, as can long baths and support from family and friends. You have to confront your problems to make them better. In time if you are proactive then things will inevitably improve. Go for it!

- Lack of Sleep

Lack of sleep is also a big factor in having less than perfect skin. You should aim for eight hours per day and no less than six. Your skin recovers and literally rebuilds itself during the night so don’t cheat! Also, many skin care products need the whole night to get working, such as Caudalie’s Night Crèmes. If you have trouble sleeping then take steps to address this. Only use the bedroom for the two S’s – Sleep and Sex! Make it a tidy relaxing place, ban TV and eating and have gentle lighting.

diet Skincare- Alcohol

Alcohol is not your friend. Skin care products don’t stand a chance if inside you are regularly filling yourself up with poison. White wine must be particularly avoided as it is a disaster for your skincare, instead opt for red wine and only one or two glasses. Strong spirits should really never pass through your system.

- Smoking

Those that smoke are missing out because there is no chance that they can achieve the level of radiance that a none smoker can achieve even when using the best skin care products. If you smoke, you are destroying your body, and as your skin is your biggest organ it is one of the first to be affected. Skincare needs assistance from you in order to work so ditch the cigarettes today!

The only true way to becoming beautiful, is thinking beautiful, acting beautiful, and seeing nothing but beauty.

[meaning stay positive!]

I have cut out alcohol and I'm now in week 2 and my skin has developed less spots lately and my social life has gone out of the window... guess you need to suffer to be beautiful.
